College of Education Students Celebrate First Day of Classes! August 27th, 2003

Setting Priorities
Working with officials from all five constituent colleges under the University umbrella, the foundation will set reasonable goals and objectives for fund-raising projects and activities. All activities will focus on achieving the mission of the University of Livingstonia.

It is important for us, who have so much, to help the people of this developing third world country move toward self-sufficiency. Envisioned in 1895, the University of Livingstonia officially opened its doors on August 27, 2003. University students, faculty and staff, face daily challenges most of us will never encounter.

Not many students can afford their portion of school fees. The average cost of providing food, shelter and education for one student is about $2,000 per year. The average salary of an employed Malawian is about $ 1.00 per day.
